  • India is the land of great warriors and leaders who were very skilful and creative in thoughts. During their rule, they constructed such a piece of Architectural marvel that stands till date. Today the World appreciate these standing heritage and the excellent sense of engineering they are built with.
  • Most of the forts in India are actually castles, fortified palaces or fortresses, but when the British Government in India were cataloguing the defences in the 17th–19th century, they used the word forts which became the common description across India.

  • Of all the Indian monuments, forts and palaces are most mesmerizing. Most of the Indian forts were built as a defence mechanism to keep the enemy away.
  • There are numerous forts and palaces in whole India of varied sizes. These grand forts clearly depict the glory of Indian majestic past.
  • The notable feature about each of the forts and palaces is the delicate carving work that has survived till date and still receives appreciation from tourists and observers.
