- Kolkata-Howrah, West Bengal, Howrah located on the west bank of the Hoogli River is known as a twin city to Kolkata. These two twin cities are connected by four river bridges and Howrah Bridge is the most famous and oldest among them.
- Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, Odisha, The two well develop cities of Odisha are located about 28 km to each other and divided by Mahanadi river. Bhubaneswar is the capital city of Orissa and known as the temple city of India for number of ancient temples of Lord Shiva.
- Hyderabad-Secunderabad, Lake Hussain Sagar seperates the two cities geographically.
- Cuttack-Bhubaneswar, Cuttack is known as the Silver City while Bhubaneshwar is known as the temple city of India. Bhubaneswar was among modern India’s first planned cities.
