- India is the 7th largest country in the world in terms of area and 2nd largest in terms of population. With a landscape and culture so diverse, there are many things we need to know about our motherland.
- Delhi, the national capital, is the largest city by area and population in North India.
- Mumbai, the financial capital, is the most populous and also the wealthiest city in India.
- Bengaluru, formerly known as Bangalore, and Chennai, formerly known as Madras, are the largest cities in South India.
- Kolkata, the cultural capital, and Guwahati are the largest cities in East and Northeast India respectively.

- Ancient India has many famous cities which played an important role in ruling the county as capitals by the famous emperors.
- Some of the major cities in India were funded by the famous kings who ruled India at their times. For Example Akbar build the famous cities like Allahabad and Fathepur Sikri, Ahmed Shah built Ahmadabad and Quli Qutub shah build Hyderabad city.
